Save the growing nails!

My midwife had me switch from gummy prenatals to Prenate Mini and now I am growing these long fab fingernails!  My nails have always been thin and break easily.  I have a cheapo clear nail hardener on them now, but I'd like to know if anyone has a tried and true strengthener/hardener (brand and where to buy please) they recommend.  I know all about shellac and such, but I don't want to go to a salon for regular treatments.  I'm a DIY kinda gal and want to keep it that way Thanks in advance for the input!
