Christmas shopping

I know - it is so early.  But the next few months are going to fly with going back to work etc.  Trying to get organized.  So my LO will be close to the 6 month mark, and looking for toy ideas.  Any recommendations?  I am sure the grandparents are going to want ideas soon as well.  I am so out of touch with toys etc....help!
