pacifier ?

We tried LO in the crib in his nursery one night, but we had to keep going back in for awhile because as soon as he lost his pacifier, he would open those eyes and scream!  Eventually he did just fall asleep but has anyone figured out a solution to this problem?  In the rock n play he doesn't lose the pacifier very often, DH says its because of the angle of the rock n play vs the flat crib.

Any recomendations?,
