Primer and birth defects

Ok...here we go again, 3rd kid and I am once again a paranoid freak!  I suppose it would be best to ask my doc on this but I have been refinishing some furniture and just read the can and said that the primer I was using (Zinsser bulls eye oil based primer) has been known to cause cancer and birth defects in CA...I am in WI, however I have been using that primer and am now in a panic!  I don't use it every day and am always outside but still, breathing in those fumes/dust etc....Anyone know anything about paints and exposure and the real risks?  BTW...I am just 5 weeks...
