Gah! Anyone else's LO haaaate carseat?

This is totally new territory for me since DD loved the carseat and even took naps in it at home sometimes when she was little. She used that seat until age was 14 months old as she was a peanut. Well DS is the total opposite and he despises the car seat. Three times in the past week he has screamed so violently that he eventually started foaming at the mouth! WTF! I hate hearing him scream and it's especially hard when I'm stuck in traffic somewhere and absolutely cannot do anything to soothe him. Anyone else's LO hate the infant car seat? Any tips on making if better? DS is huge (tall, wide) so I don't know if he just feels claustrophobic in there? Maybe he would be more amenable to a convertible seat? I'm at the end of my rope here and willing to try anything to make it better!
