NBR: Basic math concepts...

So, I was browsing my facebook. Saw a status message from one of the guys I went to HS with. It said, and I quote

"Once again, it is $5 cover for 4 bands. That is like 50 cents a band y'all!"

 

Now, I read this to my husband, because I know that the math is wrong. He is trying to figure it out, how someone can get math THAT wrong... I may not be the best grammar person out there, but dang it if I don't know numbers... math is pretty concrete!

When did $5 become less than 4 to equal less than a dollar? Did I miss something?
