Intro & Q about Dr appts

Hi ladies! 

I've been hanging out on TTGP since July. This morning I got a BFP, so I'm dipping my toes in the water over here, hoping to stay for a while.  

 I was supposed to have my annual this week with a new Dr, but he had a family emergency, and I am rescheduled for Oct 30.  I'm hoping to keep that appt and just have it as a pregnancy appt rather than annual. I'm need to call the dr to confirm that is possible. I'll be about 8 weeks at that time, but I'm worried that since I'll be a new patient, they may want me to come in sooner. Any thoughts on this? Did many of you have to go in before 8 weeks? I know some drs do 6 weeks instead of 8.
