Has anyone else had bacterial vaginosis while breastfeeding? My primary doctor diagnosed me today and she prescribed something called "Metagel". She told me in the email that the package insert says it is "probably safe" during lactation but that studies haven't confirmed for sure either way. Um.... so she wants me to take it?! I emailed my OB to ask if SHE would recommend this to a breastfeeding patient but I was wondering if any of you have ever taken this or anything else for this type of infection? TIA!
