First Ultrasound

Hi everyone!

I'm just over 5 weeks along, and my doctor scheduled me for my first ultrasound on Friday (I'll be 5 weeks, 4 days at that point). I have a septate uterus and he wants to make sure very early on that everything is alright. However, my chance of miscarriage is still super high. He says we'll be mostly out of the woods once a heartbeat is detected, but he didn't say whether or not that would be on the ultrasound and I didn't think to ask. Is it possible that an ultrasound would pick up a heartbeat that early?
