When to tell work?

I'm just about at the end of my first trimester (12 and a half weeks) and while a few close friends who I work with know, I haven't shared with my managing director or the team I manage. How soon should I tell? I'll be heading abroad for vacation in about 2 weeks and feel like I should tell them before I take that trip... In the past, women I've worked with who have had children have told as soon as 10 weeks and as late as 5 months. My office is semi-corporate, but very laid back and supportive with a lot of moms/families with children.

 

anyone have any advice or a rule of thumb they've followed? This is my first.
