Cord blood/tissue storage?

Hi all....my DH thinks that we should consider storing cord blood & tissue when our baby is born. I'm a little grossed out by it, to be honest. It's also pretty expensive. In looking at one place (I just wanted to get a feel), it's about $2,900 for processing and the first year and then $250/ year afterwards. Of course you can prepay up to 18, 25 or 30. In the big scheme of things, if something were to happen that could be "fixed" by cord blood, then it ends up being cheap. What do you ladies think? For 2nd time+ moms, did you save with the first?
