Faint line on pregnancy test

I have taken several hpts and every time it has been a pretty faint line. When I would take early response ones I would get a more visible line. My expected period was two days ago so I decided to get another hpt. I bought a cheap dollar store test and got an extremely faint line. I have been told by a friend that the cheap tests are still accurate but the hormone levels they look for a pretty high so that could be why the line is still faint even after missed period. I have had a miscarriage before so I am apprehensive. I have had a lot of persistent, mild abdominal and lower back cramping and faintly tender breasts but other than that feel pretty normal. Any suggestions?
