September 2012 in 1st Trimester

We've been ttc for several months. I am experiencing symptoms of pregnancy; swollen tender breasts, dizziness, constant nausea (with no vomitting yet). I started my period a few days late however it lasted shorter than normal. Also, the blood was never red or pink as it normally is. Instead it was very dark. I had one very heavy day. Has anyone ever had this? I'm concerned i have possibly miscarried.
