ouch leg cramps

So I read in my pregnancy book that you frequently can get leg cramps starting 2nd tri. I was like sweet, I've avoided it so far. Not two days later I wake up crying out in extreme pain as my calf is cramping. My poor DH he was so worried cuz I was crying out in pain without being able to tell him why lol. I realize it likely means I need to drink more, but I'm having a hard time. Anybody else going through something similar?
