Anxiety about parenting

Have you given much thought to how you will parent? MH thinks I'm nuts, but I feel like we should have at least a rough game plan. What kind of person are we trying to mold? Are we aiming for successful and well-educated or carefree and laid-back? What values are most important to instill and how do you go about it?

Of course, I know a lot of it will depend on child, but I think parents should guide you in a certain direction and I don't have a clue how!
