Update #2: Prayers Needed (NBR)

Update #2:  Found out the dr said the cancer wasn't deep enough in the cells of his lip, so no issue with it having spread to the lymph nodes. They seem to have caught it in time!!!

 Update: They only had to do two cuts, and were confident after the second cut that there is no more cancer in his lip. They are currently stitching him up to send him home, with swollen "angelina jolie" lips! Now we wait for the bloodwork to find out if the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes. Thanks for the T& P's. It's been a long morning...

About a month ago, the dr found a skin cancer on my dad's lip. Now, he's a outdoors man, who for a very long time refused to wear sunscreen and he's already had a couple pre-cancerous spots removed from his face.(Though he is more open to sunscreen now!!) Apparently this one was different, it is already cancerous, and it apparently a fast growing one the can quickly spread into lymph nodes.  He has been in surgery since 8:45 this morning. They take a cut and then test it to see if the edges of the cut are cancer free. If not, they take more. He is currently on his second cut and they are currently testing that one.

Just praying they are able to get it all out, and that it hasn't spread anywhere.  I am about 6 hours away from home and it just kind of sucks having to wait it out here! Will gladly accept any good thoughts and prayers you can spare!
