First OB Appointment

Hi to all the mamas! I just had my first OB appointment last thursday (i was exactly 8 weeks...) anywho - pretty much all they did was had me fill out a questionnaire, submit a urine sample and did a transvaginal US...which was nice, because I hadn't planned on them doing any kind of ultrasound. She said baby was big and beautiful with a heart rate of 180 bpm, chatted with me for a couple minutes and then scheduled to see me three weeks later. After I left, I started wondering if it was strange that she ordered no blood work on the first visit, and really didn't do a pelvic or breast exam. I had expected the whole nine yards, blood tests, swabs, etc. Does anyone have any insight on this, and does it seem strange? This is my first time growing a tiny person, so I am just a little lost on what to expect (since it didn't match up with what I read to expect at the first appointment!) Thanks, ladies!!!
