N/T Screening

Hi,

I went in for my first obgyn visit on Saturday and was surprised when my doctor did not recommend a first trimester screening or the n/t screening. I've read many books and web resources that recommend the screening. So my question is, what went into your decision to (or not to do) an n/t screening? 

FWIW, I think I'll go ahead and schedule a screening anyway, but I'm just curious to some of your opinions. TIA!
