when does supply even out?

I'm a little weary of my breasts being so full and sore whenever I go more than 2 hours without feeding my baby. He's been napping for three and I'm about to wake him just to alleviate my discomfort and prevent the let-down pain from worsening as they get fuller. 

Won't this become less of an issue soon? I think I've been told that supply evens out around 6-8 weeks and this doesn't happen so much. Is that right? Tell me what your experience has been.
