Breast Milk to Formula

Hi Ladies,

I appreciate reading all of your posts and comments! I have learned so much about breastfeeding though this site! Now I need some help!

I breastfeed my little man until he weaned himself at 7 months. My supply immediately dropped, and I quit pumping at 8 months. My freezer stash lasted him until now, where he is 9 1/2 months old. 

My problem is I don't know what to do now! The pedi. said that I should start him on whole milk. I have heard and read not to start that before 1 year. So, I called a LC and they said to start him on formula until he is 1. What would you do?

On top of that problem, I don't know what kind of formula to give him! He has an allergic reaction to yogurt, so can I just give him normal formula or should I give him soy? I am so confused!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
