Pump and dump for 8 days???

I recently had a very minor surgery at the dermatologists office. There is now a small infection, for which I have been perscribed antibiotics.  They instucted me to pump and dump for 8 days, like it's no big deal. If I do this it will pretty much mean the end of breastfeeding for me. I am prone to clogged ducts and when I had the surgery I had to pump and dump for 24 hours. I woke up the next morning with clogged ducts in both breasts. As soon as I fed my son, they came out. However, if it had been 8 days....I am angry and upset and I am not sure what to do...

 Has anyone had to do this? Any advice??
