Occasional Lurker ? about Weaning

Hi, I lurk around here sometimes, and I had a question for you guys about weaning. My DS is one now, and I've been slowly dropping one feeding at a time over the past few weeks. Today will be the first day that he goes without nursing at all.

My problem is that he still wakes up at night a couple of times to nurse. If we can get him to eat enough infant cereal before we put him to bed, then he'll sleep all night. But, this doesn't happen very often. I've tried offering him a sippy cup of regular milk at night, but he wants nothing to do with it. And, my best attempts at just comforting him back to sleep without nursing have all failed.

Any advice on how to convince him to drop the nighttime feedings would be greatly appreciated!
