Loestrin24 and extended bf'ing

Hi! I am looking for some advice. Ever since I got my 1st pp af, they have been terrible, like super heavy with clots.  This has been going on since January. My ob gyn prescribed me loestrin24 to help to get my af under control. I was supposssed to take the 1st pill on the first day of af, which was yesterday. I read the information that came with it and it said not to take while breastfeeding. I didn't take it but called the nurses' line today. She said the dr. said it was ok for babies older than 6 months. I'm supposed to take it tonight but feel very uncomfortable with the idea. Most of what I read says it affects supply in most users, too. I don't bf that much anymore but I don't like the idea of ds getting estrogen through my bm and neither one of us are ready to stop nursing altogether. Wwyd?
