How does your BF baby nap?

DD only naps for about 45 minutes at a time ... maybe 4-5 times per day. I don't know if I could even push it ... but I'd love to get her to do even 2 longer naps. I was reading today that babies this age take 2-3 naps. How do you change the way your baby naps successfully w.out making them overtired (if they are used to more catnaps?)

I use to do the sleep, eat, play routine, so it worked for shorter naps and eating every 2-2.5 hours, but she can go longer b/t feedings ... so is there another guide to loosely follow?
