Pacifier?

My 2.5 week-old wants to suck all the time. I know this is normal for this age, but I'm not sure what to do... do I offer the breast every time he wants to suck or do I give a pacifier? My 23 month-old still uses his paci to sleep (only) and he's so attached to it I dread the day we get rid of it. I was hoping to avoid using the paci on this one but I feel like he wants to nurse/suck every hour (sometimes more). Any thoughts/advice? Should I wait for this stage to pass or should I give us all some relief and just offer a paci?
