Military Ladies

My brother is graduating next summer and has decided to join the military, but he isn't sure which branch he wants to join. We have a lot of family in the Navy and Marines, and my dad's coworkers are trying to convince him to join the Coast Guard or Air Force because they're "easier". 

Just wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom for him. Are there benefits to choosing one branch over the other? Are opportunities the same? Just looking for some more neutral opinions, our family is getting a little too invested in his decision, haha. 

Fwiw, he did well on the asvab, and he is interested in engineering/drafting/ mechanical stuff.
