3.5 mo old prefers side lying nursing

Hi BFing gurus! 

I EBF DS, and for the past 2 weeks he has a strong preference for side lying nursing.

I can get him to nurse for about 3 minutes (yes, I time it) in a regular cradle hold, but after that he just fusses and won't eat anymore. The only way he will get a "full feeding" (usually about 10-13 mins) is side lying.

I do love laying with him, but it's quite inconvenient if we are out and about.

My LC always says that if you don't like something, wait a week, but it's been 2 weeks now. 

Any ideas why he prefers this position? I do feel like I have a pretty fast let down and a lot of milk?

Any ideas how to get him to fully nurse in another position? I feel like the only way is to not let him side nurse?
