storage amounts

I've started my freezer stash... I've been storing in 5 ounce amounts, but I have read that many people store in smaller amounts, like 2 oz... I know that this is because the milk should not be used for repeat feedings, however couldn't I divide the milk once thawed into two separate bottles to be stored for up to 24 hours in the fridge?
