Breastfeeding

Give me the low-down on how to BF a tired, lazy eater

DS is only 5 days old, so I know it's normal for him to fall asleep while nursing.  I do the best I can to stimulate him and wake him up, but he pretty much ignores me and goes to sleep anyway.

He is starting to gain weight back, so I'm not too worried about that aspect.  I'm more worried about making sure he feeds long enough to get hind milk.

How do I know when to switch sides with him?  Can I simply feed him one side only each feeding and just alternate?  How long should I expect a slow, lazy eater to need to feed on one side in order to make sure he's getting full?  I know every baby is different, but picture one who falls asleep every 3-5 minutes and has to be woken up constantly.

Thanks!
