How do you deal with the social awkwardness of bf'ing?

I think one of the biggest factors that could derail me in my goal to ebf for 6 months is the social awkwardness of bf'ing. I hate when we are sharing a meal with others and I have to leave the room and go be alone to feed LO, and I've been passing up certain opportunities to get out of the house because I don't know where I would be able to feed LO, etc. She doesn't like the nursing cover yet.

This isn't enough to stop me, but it is disheartening. So how do you stay active and social while having a baby that demands you whip your boobs out a moments notice with little warning? 

 

Edit: Everyone in my life is supportive of my bf'ing, but I could never feel comfortable exposing myself around my friend's husbands and other male friends or relatives.
