How many feedings at 3 months old

My LO is 2.5 months old and I have still been trying to fit in 8 feedings per day. As she sleeps longer, this is getting more difficult. Is it necessary to get in 8? Or is the 8-12 recommendation more for newborns? Is there a number of feedings I should be shooting for? Thanks.
