Is it ok to feed from just one breast?

My nipples are still getting used to DS pulling on them, I am actually using a nipple shield too because I have flat nipples. Anyway my right nipple is really chapped and bleeding a bit. I am using Lanolina nipple cream but it is still very painful when DS is BF from that boob. I was thinking about just feeding from my left boob and pumping my right boob so I don't get engorged. I only want to do this until my nipple heals up a bit. Can I do this or will it mess up my supply? Thank you!
