Do sleepy eaters get quicker?

My little one is 5 weeks old but was born early so she is only a week over her due date.

We are still waking her to eat every 3 hours because she doesnt wake herself and when breastfeeding she is difficult to get a full feed in before she falls asleep even with all the tricks so we often have to give her a bottle afterwards.

 I am wondering if this will get better with age and weight? She is only 5lbs 7o, was 3lbs at birth. She is gaining weight well but she was really tiny to start
