Does my 9 week old need both breasts per feeding?

A little bit of background: I started out with an oversupply, and it's only recently that he's gotten big enough to handle the amount of milk and my aggressive letdown. I've always offered him one breast per feeding, and he'd come off by himself and seem satisfied, and go about 2-2.5 hours until the next feeding. 

 

The reason I think he might need both breasts is that now he often lasts just 1-1.5 hours before wanting to nurse again. I thought this was a growth spurt initially, but it's been going on for a while--about a week and a half. He's only feeding for about ten minutes for most sessions, but I think he's emptying the breast.  

 

Any insights?
