am i being used as a pacifier??

LO seems to want to nurse constantly.  A lot of times he is doing these really quick and shallow sucks and I don't actually think he's swallowing, I think he's just sucking for fun...  When I try to take him off if he falls asleep, he starts rooting and crying.  It's becoming exhausting.  My doc said not to use a pacifier at this point, but am I becoming a human pacifier??

any tips??
