*clicky* fancy special cover or a blanket?

let me start with: FTM here, Really BF'ing dumb...

i plan to BF DS when he is hungry where ever we happen to be---now if were @ grocery store & he can hang in there a little of course I'll wait & chances are he will have just BF before we left home for the store--rambling..  anyway! 

my question is, whats so special about a fancy 'bf'ing cover'? what can they do a simple receiving blanket cannot? I realize the strap around your neck helps it stay 'up' and creates a gap so you can see LO... but, but, do i really need one?  is it something i would appreciate having but if I dont have its not missed?
