Trying to increase my supply by pumping - but failing

Here is what I'm doing and it's not working out for us:

 Nurse one side, pump both

 Next feeding: nurse the other side - pump both.

This is what a coworker (with amazing supply) said she did and suggested it to me.

 Well it's only 2 pm and I'm totally empty and DD is cranky. I ended up nursing her just for the stimulation and to get whatever she could pull out and then gave her a bottle of pumped milk to top her off.

 I'm so tired and feeling so dumb, I can't think straight. LOL

Someone tell me what to do!
