Sleeping while feeding

My baby has always 'slept' while nursing. I use the term 'set' loosely ecause se not actually fully asleep, but in a light sleep, sucking on and off. When hes finished he 'wakes up.' 

My question is: when your LO des that, do you count that as part of his/her sleeping for the day? Sometimes Eli doesn't sleep much during the day, but seems content. I'm wondering if that's partly due to the fact he gets in some rest during every Feeding. (note: if it matters, I only nurse to sleep at bedtime.)
