When do you start considering allergies or reflux?

so, at what point do I start to wonder if DD has an allergy to something I'm eating? What are the signs to look for, and where do I start in cutting things out? Dairy?

I mean I can't imagine she has anything since there are no allergies in either of our families (but I suppose they have to start with someone), but she's just not a happy child. ( She's not happy unless she's sucking, but not even always then. I guess i'm worried about allergies, or reflux.
