Ok, so I'm sure this is out there somewhere, I just can't find it. We are expecting our first in July. I plan to breastfeed and pump so my husband can feed the baby once a day. We took a bf class that covered latch and all that. But what I want to know is, if i want to increase my supply, when do I pump? Like if the kiddo is eating every 1-2 hours when do I pump to get my body to produce a little more? And if I pump between feedings, will that lower my supply for the next nursing time?
I know my body will make what the baby needs but I want to have some frozen supply in case I want to go out of town or am away for a day. I am also considering donating some to a breastmilk bank to help preemies. Also if the baby only feeds from one side, should I pump the other one? Should I try to pump right after I nurse the baby to increase my supply? TIA!
