Adding a bottle of formula

In August I will be going back to school and my freezer supply is disappearing and my supply is pretty much set to what my son eats and I cant really pump anymore. So when I'm away I'm figuring that DS will have to take formula. My question is should I start feeding him like one bottle o formula a day to get him use to it before I leave him. He has no problem eating from a bottle. DH feeds him a breast milk bottle every night so Gould we just replace it? And if so is there rules like if he eats 4-6 oz of formula I can't feed him until a certain number of hours after? I'm just gettin worried because as of today I only have like 3 more bottles and I know my DH loves to feed him at night
