Prenatal care?

I was just wondering what is prenatal care? My doctor told me to come in june 4th for prenatal care, and silly me didn't ask questions i thought it meant getting blood done, so i asked my sister because she went to the same doctor and she didn't know they never done that to her. I wonder is it cause i had a miscarriage before and their paying close attention to this baby in case anything is wrong? I would of called my doctor but their closed today. Any idea?
