Film on pump parts

So I went to sterilize my pump parts this weekend, boiling one set at a time. (I do it once a month or so for a thorough cleaning, usually I throw them in the dishwasher). Anyway when I put the second set on I got busy with other things and forgot about it, and by the time I came back the water had boiled half away. None of the parts were misshapen or anything, but after they dried they all have this whitish tint to them that I can't wash off. Is it a film, or did I ruin the plastic? Would you still use this set? I only have two, what a bummer!
