4 CM dilated and baby hasn't dropped

Oh man...just got back from the dr again....I'm still 4 cm from my last visit and baby still hasn't dropped. My due date is on saturday but now dr is afraid baby is too big to have a vaginal delivery. She wants me to wait it out this weekend to see if baby comes on his own or drops and if he doesnt she wants to wait till monday to do a ultrasound scan to see how big he is...

 wouldnt drs normally do it today? i asked her to do it today but she said she would rather wait..ugh!!
