Whose baby had a tongue tie clipped?

How long did it take for you to see results in nursing?  We just had DD's clipped for the second time (apparently, it can scar back) by an ENT on Monday.  Immediately after they clipped it I noticed her latch was much much deeper but then later that night and the next couple days she kept going back to the lazy, shallow latch that she has always had.  Is it just a matter of practicing with her?  She is 8 weeks old.  She had the first one clipped at birth.  Also, there was alot of blood when they clipped it the second time.  I wasn't prepared for it at all.  Her poor little face was all smeared with blood as I tried to nurse her afterwards.  It was awful.  :-(
