Belly U/S vs. Transvaginal

At the beginning of my pregnancy i was getting transvaginal ultrasounds every 1week-2weeks because of my m/c last time around. Finally after last month she said everything seems perfect so we're going to start doing regular u/s. 

I have one coming up next tuesday and i'll be 12 weeks.

The receptionist when i scheduled the appt. said i won't be getting stomach u/s until the next TWO appts.

am i allowed to request a stomach one? I've seen so many posts from ladies saying they had bleeding afterwards later on, and i don't want to risk that...

advice...
