How we told our parents on Mother's Day

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

DH bought me flowers. Very sweet:)

Just wanted to share our story on how we broke the news to both our parents. We got our BFP a few weeks ago and decided to wait till this past Sunday to tell them both. Our first prenatal appt was last Thurs, so we just wanted to make sure everything was ok first.

So we asked both sets of parents out to dinner to celebrate the holiday, but told them to meet at our place beforehand. While sitting around and chatting, we brought out a cake and placed it on the living room table. Casually, the hubby said that after dinner we could come back and have dessert.

My mom glanced at the cake and noticed that it didn't say Happy Mother's Day. Upon closer inspection, she saw that it said "(my name) is Pregnant." She turned to me with a big smile on her face and said oh! and hugged me with a congrats. MIL then noticed the message and ran to me as well.

It was a wonderful moment, and we all celebrated and toast at dinner, me with just water, of course
