left feeling dumbfounded

I am pregnant with my second child, I am almost certain my LMP 2/29/12 and conceived around 3/14 Went to the Dr today for my first appt, first he did a pap smear, I was kinda taken aback by that because I wasn't sure if paps are done during pregnancy. Then he said I should be 11 weeks based on my period and said that he would feel my uterus and if I am measring close to that then will try to listen for the heartbeat,. He felt my uterus and said I am not quite that big and ordered an US to confirm dates. I thought i was going to have the US today but not till Tuesday. Im not sure what to think. I had a miscarriage before I had my son and when I was pregnany with my son my dates were perfect. I feel like this is not going to be a successful pregnancy. Any advice?
