pumps vs. nipps

I wasn't sure on what to do about breast pumps VS. letting my baby just go natural on my nip. Was wondering if y'all could give some pros ad cons?? I hear a lot of ppl saying how bad it hurts and your nipples bleed and things like that when the baby latches on...does it do that when you pump as well???

What are the big benefits to breast feeding??
