hand expression vs pumping

My premie is still learning to breastfeed and my milk has not come in yet and I feel like i can get more colostrum from hand expression than pumping in less time but i want to make sure im still stimulating to support my suppy coming in well.

Is hand expressiong just as good at stimulating suppy as pumping? Should i do one over the other?
